Lizzy Spencer set up Garden Carers in 2011 following a period of being a full-time carer. She has an RHS Diploma in Horticulture and has taken courses in Garden Design and Horticultural Therapy. With a history of voluntary & community work including fund-raising and working with disabled groups and children, Lizzy is now channelling her passion for plants into providing people with garden spaces where they can feel refreshed and invigorated, or where they can relax and find some peace and tranquility.
Abi Newman completed a Diploma in Horticulture in 2014 after obtaining a BA(Hons) from Exeter University in 2005. Having worked in property for a few years, and following time as a Games Maker at the London Olympics, she decided to make a career change and develop her love of gardening. Growing up in Shropshire she has always loved horticulture, nature and animals. Abi has a particular interest in growing fruit and vegetables, especially in the urban environment and volunteers regularly at a local community garden in south east London.
Jo Goodwin has developed an interest in gardening and design over the past 18 years. She holds RHS Certificates and City & Guild Diplomas in Practical and Work-based Horticulture, alongside her training as a Feng Shui consultant. Over recent years she has worked with elderly and disabled social housing tenants to help restore and transform their outdoor spaces. Jo is passionate about gardening as a means of improving people’s environment and overall wellbeing.
Rebecca Steel has over 20 years experience in a diverse range of horticultural settings. She has a Diploma in Permaculture and RHS qualifications in Horticulture and Garden Planning. In addition she has had qualified teacher status since 1997, working in a variety of roles over the past 17 years in London schools. Since 2010 she has worked with schools and community groups running workshops and helping to set up urban food growing projects. Rebecca is passionate about the positive impact of gardening for people of all ages.
